Saturday 10th November 2018 – BREWTAP – 1pm til 8pm

Collab Weekend | Trafford Veterans Mild Release | Mackie Mayor 7.1% IPA | The Curry Den | All Welcome

We’ve hooked up with Trafford Veterans to mark 100 years since the WW1 Armistice.  Its was only right to make a beer that was popular at the time of WW1 and we’ve gone for our own take on an English Mild. At 3.5% if you’re looking for an easy Saturday afternoon drink this will be right up you’re street.

That said, we’ll also have the rest of our beers on plus our collab (7.1% IPA) with the Mackie Mayor on keg so what ever you like you’ll be all good.

If we’re counting right it’ll be two on cask (inc the mild) and 7 on keg for that afternoon….9 beers on in total. With The Curry Den in tow it should be a good one.

Saturday 29th September 2018 – BREWTAP (1pm til 8pm)

BrewTap | South Manny Flavaz | Beaches Of Mcr + DJ MattY | All Welcome

Wow. Summer has nearly disappeared. Where did all the sun go?! No reason not to slot another BrewTap in though….

Great news on the food front, we’ve managed to snag South Manny Flavaz. This is fried chicken at its absolute best. They’ve been going down a strorm the last couple of weeks up the road in Stretford so we’re well pleased to get them on board for this last tap of the summer months.

No worries on the tunes either as we’ve got the Beaches of Manchester and DJ MattY who’ll be bopping it with some top Northern Soul amongst other things. Not to be missed.

Saturday 8th September 2018 – BREWTAP (1pm til 6pm) & COMEDY NIGHT (7pm til 11pm)

#Altrincham Introducing…..

Kerry Leigh (Host) @kerryleighcomic

Kerry builds instant rapport with an audience…Quick witted and quirky, Kerry gets everyone involved when she is MC-ing. Her honest and identifiable comedy is reminiscent of the very best of nights out with that hilarious and hapless friend who is always happy to share their latest mishap. Kerry’s audience tends to leave with aching sides, safe in the knowledge that they’ve been part of something truly live, created before their eyes…

Smug Roberts @smugroberts

Born and bred in Manchester, he’s one of the top stand-up comics, alongside his local pals Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas. His acting performances and credits both in television and films include the hugely popular Bafta award winning TV shows Mrs Browns Boys, Buried, Cold Feet, Phoenix Nights (Peter Kay) and the films “Looking For Eric” (Dir Ken Loach) and 24 Hour Party People (Dir Michael Winterbottom).

“An extraordinary comic” – MEN

“A brilliant act, he defies description and has to be seen” – City Life

“He neatly subverts the crowd’s expectations by presenting the exact opposite of what they are anticipating” – The Guardian

Nuff said.

Lindsey Davies @lindseydavies77

With a face like a lady and a mouth like that toilet from Trainspotting, next up we have Lindsey Davies: the C-bomb dropping, baggage carrying northern lass from Leigh: a town, she laughs, that’s ‘inbred to f*ck’. Her sweet demeanor is long-gone the moment she opens her mouth, throwing massive pieces of shock into the faces of her audience.

Dan Nightingale @DanNcomedian

Dan is one of the best performers found on the comedy circuit today. Mixing brilliant observation and energetic characterisations with killer punch lines, his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, exciting, sometimes ridiculous but always hilarious.

He’s a natural with the crowd, bouncing off any audience interaction wonderfully, making him a much sought after host and MC. Yet he’s also an inventive writer and a great storyteller and his comedy sets, whether supporting or headlining, are a chance to see the full variety of his superb material and clever stagecraft.

Saturday 30th June 2018 12pm til 6pm

Mcr Beer Week Special | Stubborn Mule Brewery Bar | Dunham Press Cider Bar

The Curry Den | Tapas Altrincham | Dunham Massey Ice Cream | Beaches Of Mcr

Tickets Only £7.50 | Includes One Drink | Available HERE

Summer is fast approaching, what to do….

Go on then let’s pull together some of Altrincham & Manchester’s finest small batch producers of food, drink & music together in one place for something a bit different.

We’re taking the BrewTap offsite for a Manchester Beer Week and Summer Special!!!!

As soon as we heard the guys at Mcr Beer Week were looking for ways to push things beyond the Manchester City Centre boundaries we instantly thought we could provide them an event spot.

With summer here we’ve also been thinking it was time to find another venue with a difference if we were to take the tap away from Radium Works for the first time. Now, where to go in and around Altrincham to keep things friendly to everyone who’s been attending our BrewTaps to date – and hopefully make it appealing to many more? Oooh yes, Altrincham’s very own Cider Orchards out in Dunham Massey. So we’re off, and fortunately Chris Hewitt who’s owns Dunham Press Cider has been only too happy to get involved. We’ve got two months to get the show on the road….

The best things about the location is it’s easily accessible yet idyllic. You can wander or cycle down the Bridgewater canal with the family, taxi it or jump on a bus to get out to the Orchards – and being so close to Manchester we’re also guaranteed the weather (of some sort anyway!)

The address is as follows so plan your route: Boundary Farm, Sawpit Street, Dunham Massey, WA14 4SJ.

We’ll be bringing along a bar stocked full of our cask beers (yes even Donkey Punch is being specially racked to cask for this one) straight from the brewery cold room and Dunham Press will have all their finest locally produced ciders available throughout.

Chris from Dunham Press will also be leading walks in to the orchards showing off their array of apples from the all important cider apples through to dessert. All in we’ve got lazy hazy summer day of drinks covered.

And there’s more….we’ll have some of the best street food from the guys who’ve supported us hugely in the last 12 months The Curry Den & Tapas Altrincham. We’ll confirm menus closer to the time but expect BBQ, Kebabs and much more.

For the kids & big kids we’ll have the best locally produced Ice Cream in the area onsite from Dunham Massey Ice Cream. They’ll be heading down from their soon to be newly refurbished Ice Cream Parlour. Check it.

Last but not least mainly because it was a tough booking to get – I do not kid – but we’ve nabbed the Beaches of Manchester for the day so can pretty much guarantee that the atmosphere wind, rain or sun (or the whole lot) will be ace. After this debut last month my good friend The Gingerbread Man will also be on the scene with his funk soul classic set amongst his other party pieces. As James Brown said “Get down”.

Everyone involved has young families and we’re all local to Altrincham. BrewTaps have gone this way naturally to an extent so we’d love you to make this a family day out. If you’ve never been to the Dunham Press Orchards there’ll be lots to see and you’d be amazed it’s all so close to home.

Just in case though the bouncy castles are booked….CHILDREN – FREE ENTRY

Dogs are welcome so long as they’re kept on leads in and around the event venue and the orchard walks. Outside of that there’s lots of places around about for dog walkers to explore.

If anyone out there thinks they have something they can or want to bring to the party contact

To ensure we can cover the various amenities, services and accesses we’ll need to provide for the day we’ll be ticketing this event.
Tickets are priced at £7.50 per Adult. This includes any one drink from either bar on the day which you can get on production of your named event ticket.

If you’ve any questions or require further information please don’t hesitate in getting in emailing at or hit us direct on 07730 515251 or via social media.

Donkey Punch v2 | Dough n Co | All Welcome

Cannot believe it’s May and already we’re up to the 5th BrewTap of the year. We’ve got all the beer available in one format or another and this time we’re looking forward to welcoming the guys from Dough ‘N’ Co to do their thing with the food.

Really looking forward to see what they can add to our tastings. If you’d like to check them out you can find them here @DoughNCo

Saturday 28th April 2018 – 1pm til 8pm

Last Keg Of Donkey Punch v1 | The Curry Den | Beaches of Mcr Vs Gingerbread Man

Hopefully the sun will be shining….yeah right.

We’re rolling out the last keg we have of Donkey Punch v1 for anyone who didn’t get to try it last time. It’s a busy day for them but we’ve got The Curry Den back to. Make the most of it as it’s might be the last time for a couple of months!

The ipod is being given the weekend off…we’ve got Beaches of MCR Vs Gingerbread Man for the afternoon session.

Can’t wait.

As per all welcome.

Saturday 31st March 2018: Donkey Punch NEIPA + Curry Den + Mango

New Keg Beer Release | The Curry Den | All Welcome

Been very much looking forward to brewing this beer, slotting it into the schedule has been the problem. Hop-wise we’ve gone with some of our absolute favourites from the US, Mosaic, and two we’ve not had the pleasure of bringing to the party while brewing at Radium Works – Citra & Amarillo. Wow.

This is a bit off piste based on our line up to date but we expect an ace beer to be added to the selection – all being well it’ll be good to go for the 31st!! After slotting a 3.9% in last time it’s time to get the ratchet back out, so 6% sounds about right for this Donkey Punch.

A New England IPA very much born in Manchester this will be about dry-hopping on on scale we’ve not managed to get close to….yet. We’ve high expectations, particularly in the mouthfeel and flavour department from the additions of Flaked Oats, Mango & Lactose.

Can’t wait until brewday. The only other thing is the recommendation this needs to be consumed at its freshest.

The Curry Den have been ace at the last the last two taps. They can can bring mango and compliment a mango infused beer….

See you there.

Donkey Punch NEIPA – Available for for tasting at our BrewTap Saturday 31st March.
Subsequently available to trade in 30L KeyKeg, Limited Cask & Bottle.

See you there.

Saturday 24th February 2018: Li’l Napoleon + Curry Den + Beaches of MCR

Li’l Nap II The Sequel | The Curry Den | Beaches of MCR| All Welcome

This ain’t déjà vu. Word is Li’l Napoleon v1’s gone. Well v2’s almost here and the plan was to make it better. So if you blinked 1st time we’re back with batch two. Great sequel? Yop, needs a top cast. Hello Aayan and & The Curry Den. Life’s a beach with The Beaches of MCR in tow. Mini-Kegs & bottles of Li’l Napoleon available to take away over the bar.

See you there.

Saturday 20th January 2018: Li’l Napoleon + Curry Den

Li’l Napoleon Cask Release | The Curry Den | Rice & 3 | All Welcome

Wow 2017 flew by. On that basis best to get out of the traps early with a new beer release. Even better why not combine it with a top beer tasting accompaniment. Yes, that’s right The Curry Den are back. It sounds like they’ve been busy so well pleased to have them on board.

Very much looking forward to trying Li’l Napoleon on cask ourselves. It’s a bit off piste for us being something that can be described as sessionable. So if you like to get in on the grand review pre-MCBF18 you know where to find us – and if you don’t shout up now.

Look forward to seein’ y’all.

Saturday 16th December: Christmas BrewTap

Bad Santa | Bratwurst | Mini-Kegs | Presents

It’s been a busy few weeks on the brewing  and packaging side of things but with Christmas just round the corner and lots of people asking how they can get their hands on mini-kegs & gift packs its tap time. We’ll have all the usual beers available for tasting and Bad Santa will be on cask for the day. Come and try our first spiced beer….6.2% and full of Christmas goodness.

Tapas Altrincham will be helping with the market theme supplying Bratwurst – apparently the best in the UK – for the afternoon so it’ll hopefully be a real pre-chrimbo affair.  For any last minute shopping ideas we’ll have mini-kegs (Magnum, Bad Santa & Absolute Banker), gift packs and bottle all available to take away.

Any questions feel free to get in touch.

Autumn Break

Brewing | Markets | Festivals | Presents

Well what a year it’s been so far….but with the clocks about to go back and weather unlikely to be remaining 20 degrees much beyond the next 24 hours it’s time for a short break on the tastings front. Thankfully we’ve been able to end this summer on a high with the Comedy Night so a huge thanks to everyone who’s supported us across the piece this year be it people coming along, food vendors, musicians or comedians.

With lots of brewing to be done in the next few weeks the bi-weekly openings need to take a back seat – and it’s also only fair to give Verity & Anthony (who’ve supported us so well over the last few months) a bit of a break and their weekends back (to an extent!). Cheers guys, can’t say how much I appreciate all the help.

We’ll still be taking bookings for private tastings so do feel free to contact us to get something booked in. We’re happy to support Christmas party tastings and we’ll be selling bottles, mini-kegs, and casks direct from the brewery as per usual.

We’ve a few special tastings planned for December so watch this space but in the meantime thanks again for helping us show the brewery has a chance of making it.

For bookings or any questions at all about what we’re up to hit us here and we’ll be back with you ASAP. Keep watching this space.

Saturday 14th October: Comedy Night Redux & Afternoon BrewTap

Five acts, one night, look them up, get on it.

Everyone welcome.

Saturday 9th September: BrewTap with Curry Den Return + DJs: Beaches of MCR

BrewTap 1pm til 8pm | Curry Den Return | Beaches of MCR | Everyone Welcome

The success of the last Curry Den outing at the Brewery has made it a bit of a no brainer as to whether we invite them back – so we’ve done just that. Anyone who came along to the BrewTap on the 12th of August will know how good the food was that day and we look forward to more of the same.

For a bit of a change on the music – yes the ipod sometimes just doesn’t cut it – we’ve also invited local DJ pairing Beaches of Manchester along for a vinyl set. “Spinning Tunes” has been a feature of every conversation I’ve had with them so very much looking forward to what they can add.

Everyone welcome once again.

Sunday 3rd September: Beer, Bass & BBQ

BrewTap 12pm til 5pm | Double Bass | BBQ | Everyone Welcome

It’ll be a pleasure to help support an open day for one of our neighbouring businesses in Radium Works. Sam Wells, base maker & repairer extraordinaire, and very much Altrincham based, will be saying goodbye to a Double Bass (it’s off to the RNCM by the way) he’s lovingly handcrafted over months. This will be an opportunity for anyone local to come and check out Sam’s business and see some more of what for many goes on unseen in and around Broadheath.

The bar will be open to all and Sam will be on hand to answer any questions about his business – perhaps even show people where the magic happens. It’s still under discussion but there may also be a very different musical offering on the cards. Updates on that to follow.

Tapas A La Carta will be on hand with BBQ if anyone is feeling peckish of a Sunday afternoon.

Everyone welcome.

Saturday 26th August: BrewTap with Tapas Altrincham BBQ & Artisan Ales

BrewTap 1pm til 8pm | BBQ & Bottle Shop | Everyone Welcome

August Bank Holiday weekend is fast approaching. To make sure you can well and truly take it easy right through the long weekend we’ve got beer and BBQ with Altrincham’s own Tapas Y A La Carta and another onsite bottle shop from Artisan Ale’s who are heading over from Sale.

Everyone welcome – and we’ll sort some dog bowls this time.

Saturday 12th August: BrewTap with Curry Den

BrewTap 1pm til 8pm | Indian Street Food | Everyone Welcome

Another top Brewtap weekend has just flown by again. We quite honestly weren’t expecting a turnout like that and it was great to see so many out despite the clouds. The pop-ups were great as usual and thanks to everyone for bearing with us on the bar. That’s what happens when you try to be clever, double up your bar chiller as a fermenter chiller, brew on a Thursday and have a Brewtap on a Saturday. I think they call it lessons learned.

Anyway on to the next one. We’ve got lots of the usual but will be spicing it up with a food pop-up that’s everything we like: ridiculously local, new on the scene, trying new things – and bringing along a modern classic of a beer pairing.  They’ve been doing their thing at B.EAT Street in town and Foodie Friday in Stockport so it a pleasure to welcome the guys from The Curry Den to the brewery….very much looking forward to working with them.

Saturday afternoon, Craft Beer, Craft Curries & tunes. What’s not to like!?

Everyone welcome – and we’ll sort some dog bowls this time.

Saturday 29th July: BrewTap with Tapas Altrincham BBQ

BrewTap 1pm til 8pm | Mexican BBQ | Everyone Welcome

We were blown away by the comedy night and as promised a few weeks ago we’ll be keeping the bi-weekly BrewTap’s rolling.

We’ve invited them before and by popular demand we’ve got them back to provide some top BBQ – Tapas Altrincham will be joining us again on the 29th. So if you’re wondering what to have for lunch or teatime that Saturday don’t, we’ve just solved all your problems.

We’ll also be joined by Artisan Ales (Traders Outlet, Sale) who’ll again be popping up their bottle shop and bringing along some of the best beer from Manchester, the UK and beyond.

Everyone welcome.

Saturday 15th July: BrewTap & Laugh Out Loud Comedy Night

Trafford & Hulme CAMRA Branch AGM 2016

13th October 2016 | Stubborn Mule Brewery

We threw our hat in to the ring to host the T&HCAMRA AGM on the 13th of October. For our very first event it was a bit of a coup to have Colin Valentine the National CAMRA Chairman there to speak for the evening.  After being reliably informed that the expected attendance was usually somewhere in the region of 30, 40 max we laid on a couple of casks and some beers in kegs and bottles.

A quote from CAMRA in their following monthly mag sums up the night quite well:

“What an event that was – almost 70 members, a record attendance, standing room only and the bar drank dry! Sincere apologies to those of you that had to stand and further that Stubborn Mule ran out of cask beer!”

We look forward to hosting their branch meeting April 4th 2017.

Bier Cell Meet The Brewer

August Bank Holiday 2016

Biercell in Altrincham were good enough to let us do a Meet the Brewer Event on the August 2016 Bank Holiday. This was a chance to showcase our whole range at one of Altrincham’s better known beery places. With a keg of the Single Hop IPA on tap in the shop a top day was had by all.
