Come and visit one of Manchester’s few real neighbourhood breweries. We’d love to have a chat and show you around….
Being based in one of Altrincham’s residential neighbourhoods, just off Navigation Road, our brewery can be easily accessed via Metrolink (7 mins walk from Navigation Road), bus (263 from Manchester to Altrincham), or even via the Bridgewater Canal (walking, bike or Waxi – Water Taxi).
Our space in Radium Works comprises all the features you’d expect to see in a brewery squeezed in to what used to be an old canalside mill and boot polish (Radium) works. The idea of building a brewery was always as a nod to some of the US neighbourhood breweries that started out in a similar way knowing the buy-in of locals was critical. Happily we’ve managed to fit a 10 line tap bar in and seating for up to 50 to allow us to hold tasting events onsite which really helps with this. Bottles & mini-kegs can also be bought over the bar to take away during our licensed hours.
The brewing process within is a souped up version of that used at our original brewing site – a back garden shed in Timperley just down the road. So far the brewery and associated events have worked well, we’ve had beer releases, comedy nights, charity events and running clubs stop by to sample our beers and some of the stunning street food we access from local traders.
The really pleasing part of moving to Radium Works has been that we’ve not had to compromise on the beers we’ve always made and what goes in to them, if anything the quality and freshness of the ingredients has increased as we tend to buy fresh now for each brew.
We produce handcrafted, modern beers. Each is individually keg, cask and bottle conditioned, unfiltered and unpasteurised. Much of the range is vegan-friendly. We use a very traditional and in some places manual process but our outlook is that of a professional modern brewery. We aim to grow.
Come and see, stay and taste.
