Summer is fast approaching, what to do….
Go on then let’s pull together some of Altrincham & Manchester’s finest small batch producers of food, drink & music sets together in one place for something a bit different. We’re taking the BrewTap offsite for a Mcr Beer Week and Summer Special!!!!
As soon as we heard the guys at Mcr Beer Week were looking for ways to push things beyond the Manchester City Centre boundaries we instantly thought we could provide them an event spot…..
With summer here we’ve also been thinking it was time to find another venue with a difference if we were to take the tap away from Radium Works for the first time. Now, where to go in and around Altrincham to keep things friendly to everyone who’s been attending our BrewTaps to date – and hopefully make it appealing to many more? Oooh yes. Altrincham’s very own Cider Orchards out in Dunham Massey. So we’re off, and fortunately Chris Hewitt who’s owns and runs Dunham Press Cider has been only too happy to get involved. We’ve got two months to get the show on the road….
The best things about the location is it’s easily accessible yet idyllic. You can wander or cycle down the bridgewater canal with the family, taxi it or jump on a bus to get out to the Orchards – and being so close to Manchester we’re also guaranteed the weather (of some sort anyway!)
The address is as follows so plan your route: Boundary Farm, Sawpit Street, Dunham Massey, WA14 4SJ.
We’ll be bringing along a bar stocked full of our cask beers (yes even Donkey Punch is being specially racked to cask for this one) straight from the brewery cold room and Dunham Press will have all their finest locally produced ciders available throughout. All in we’ve got lazy summer day drinks covered.
And there’s more….we’ll have some of the best street food from the guys who’ve supported us hugely in the last 12 months The Curry Den & Tapas Altrincham. We’ll confirm menus closer to the time but expect BBQ, Kebabs and much more.
For the kids & big kids we’ll have the best locally produced Ice Cream in the area onsite from Dunham Massey Ice Cream. They’ll be heading down from their soon to be newly refurbished Ice Cream Parlour. Check it.
Last but not least mainly because it was a tough booking to get – I do not kid – but we’ve nabbed the Beaches of Manchester for the day so can pretty much guarantee that the atmosphere wind, rain or sun (or the whole lot) will be ace. After this debut last month my good friend The Gingerbread Man will also be on the scene with his funk soul classic set amongst his other party pieces. As James Brown said “Get down”.
Everyone involved has young families and we’re all local to Altrincham. BrewTaps have gone this way naturally to an extent so we’d love you to make this a family day out. If you’ve never been to the Dunham Press Orchards there’s lots to see and you’d be amazed it’s all so close to home.
Just in case though the bouncy Castles are booked…..
